ABOUT DR. CLEAVER

Dr. Michael Cleaver, D.C.
Activator Method

A native of Northern California, Dr. Cleaver began his professional career in the world of corporate finance for companies such as Chevron and The Travelers.  During these years, he was actively involved in several organized sports leagues playing tennis, volleyball and softball.  Upon suffering a debilitating back injury, Dr. Cleaver was introduced to the world of chiropractic care.  After more than six months of only minimal improvement using physical therapy, pain relievers, muscle relaxants, orthopedists, etc., Dr. Cleaver finally followed the advice of a colleague and visited a chiropractor.  Within a matter of weeks, this chiropractor helped Dr. Cleaver overcome his spinal injury; allowing him to finally return to his regular activities.  Given his very active lifestyle, Dr. Cleaver chose to continue receiving chiropractic maintenance care and found that with continuous care his chronic headaches and stomach ailments had been completely eliminated.  Amazed by these results, and wanting others to experience the same renewal of health, Dr. Cleaver left the corporate world and began a career in chiropractic.

Upon graduating magna cum laude from Palmer Chiropractic College, Dr. Cleaver operated his own practice in Cupertino, California where he focused on family care.  Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Dr. Cleaver's practice experienced significant growth in those patients suffering from conditions arising out of the workplace. He assisted these patients in overcoming conditions ranging from headaches, chronic neck and back pain, arm pain and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome; many resulting from repetitive stress activities.

Initially focusing on pain relief, Dr. Cleaver's patients quickly recognized that returning for regular adjustments after having recovered from their initial conditions typically resulted in improved resistance to future injury and better overall health.  These experiences have helped cement Dr. Cleaver's chiropractic focus in that of prevention as the cornerstone of his long-term wellness philosophy; one that he now continues in the Napa Valley, where he has been practicing for the past 8 years.

Dr. Cleaver provides a myriad of adjusting techniques and ancillary care to support his corrective and maintenance approach.  His adjusting techniques include the Activator Method (low force), Palmer Specific (manual) and Thompson drop table technique.  Dr. Cleaver is one of only 2% of chiropractors worldwide who is Advanced Certified in the Activator technique.  Ancillary care includes massage therapy, rehabilitative stretches and exercises, diet and nutritional counseling, and ergonomic review and design.
